THERE ARE BATTLES TO WIN
No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. Romans 8:37
Life is a battle field of all sorts in too many fronts. There is no human being who is not deeply engaged at some point in one fight or the other; while some are fighting for their lives that is being destroyed by terminal diseases like cancer or HIV AIDS, some are fighting with the shame that comes from the affliction of poverty and others are fighting to keep their sanity because there is no peace in their homes. But today, I want to let you know that in spite of whatever battle you may be fighting right now, you were victorious before the fight ever began. You are more than conqueror through Christ who always causes you to triumph over situations and circumstances of life. You are not involved in a battle all by yourself; you are simply enforcing a victory plan that was conceived before the foundation of the earth. You are not fighting for survival; you are fighting to uphold the truth that Jesus spoiled principalities and made an open display of their defeat.
David knew and lived by this truth even before Jesus came to fulfill it. That is the reason why he was outraged by the way Goliath was taunting and cursing the army of Israel; David felt it was an abomination for a defeated foe to spit on the integrity of the victorious. That is why he said,
“Who is this pagan Philistine anyway, that he is allowed to defy the armies of the living God?” 1 Samuel 17:26
God is great and mighty in battle; there is no warrior that can confront Him. That was all David knew and it was sufficient for him to defeat the lion, the bear and ultimately Goliath. What battle are you engaged in right now? Are there battles you have been dodging from fighting because you are afraid of the enemy that is waging war against you? Remember that the bible emphatically declares you a winner. So, arise in the name of Jesus and take your place in battle; there are victories to uphold.
Liberation thought: We are victorious in Christ our Lord.
