TWO CHILDREN KILLED IN ACCIDENT ON THURSDAY

Children killed in motor vehicle crash identified

Two children died in a motor vehicle collision in Lluidas Vale, St. Catherine on Thursday.

They have been identified as 12-year- old Roldan Ramsey and 11-year-old Domonic Slue, both of Camp district, Lluidas Vale.

They attended the Lluidas Vale Primary school.

Roldan was in Grade Six and preparing to sit the Grade Six Achievement Test (GSAT) this month.

Domonic was a Grade 4 student.

According to the police, about 4 pm, both boys were travelling on a bicycle when it is alleged that Roldan lost control of the it and it collided with a truck.

The boys died while being treated at hospital.

The Ministry of Education said a trauma team visited with students and staff at the Lluidas Vale Primary school yesterday.

Principal Uvalyn Barrett-Rose described Roldan as a happy child who was resilient in the face of challenges, while Domonic was ambitious and humble.

Education Minister, Ruel Reid has expressed regret and sadness at the tragedy.
