The incident has sparked a massive demonstration, with some 200 people protesting in Prospect and rendering the road between Green Island and Grange Hill impassable.

Reports are that at about 8:30 pm, residents heard explosions and alerted the police. The police later found the McIntosh’s body face down on the floor of his business place with the hands bound and what appeared to be gunshot wounds to the head.

A senior investigator told OBSERVER ONLINE that based on leads, the police searched a cane field in the area and found J$9,000 and a pair of slippers belonging to the missing woman.

The police have since widened their search and are appealing to anyone who can assist their investigations to come forward.

Meanwhile, some of the protesting residents say they are tired of the number of crimes taking place in the parish while others are calling for a shake-up of the police force.
