‘He Collected N100,000 From Me, But Refused To Give Me Her Daughter In Marriage’
A 33 year-old man, Sabiu Umar, has prayed a Shari’a court sitting at Rigasa, Kaduna, Kaduna State to assist him recover N100,000 from his former fiancé’s father, Muhammad Sani.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the complainant told the court that he had given the money to Muhammed as dowry and wedding gifts, in accordance with tradition.

“After collecting the money, he refused to allow me marry his daughter, saying that he had changed his mind and wants his daughter to further her education,”he said.
Sabiu told the court he had been demanding for the refund of his money from the defendant for the past 10 months, but he has refused to pay.
The defendant however, was not in court after being served a court summon.
The judge, Malam Dahiru Bamalli, ordered that a substituted service be given to the defendant, and adjourned the case till December 17 for hearing.
