He Didn’t Divorce Me But Abandoned Me, Our Kids —Wife
A middle aged woman, Ramatu Ahmad has dragged her husband, Wale Abdulwasiu to a
Sharia court ll sitting at Magajin Gari, Kaduna demanding for the confirmation of divorce.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the complainant told the court that she heard from someone that her husband had divorced her few years ago saying he doesn’t have anything to do with her anymore.
“He abandoned me and my three children and refuse to give me any document to show that he had divorced me according to Islamic rite”, she explained.
Ahmad who resides at Tudun Nufawa prayed the court to confirm the divorce and compel Abbdulwasiu to take care of his children.
On his part, the defendant, who resides at Dirkaniya was represented by Mai-Unguwa Danladi, told the court that Abdulwasiu had made three pronouncements of divorce to Ahmad six years ago.
Abdulwasiu presented a document stating the divorce to the court saying he had already remarried.
The judge, Malam Musa Sa’ad-Goma, after listening to both parties ruled that “Since the defendant had sent a proof of his divorce to his wife, the court hereby confirms it”.
The judge ordered the defendant to be personally in Court on January 30 to discuss feeding and upkeep allowance of their children.
