She prepares lunch for my hubby’
FAILURE to fathom the thought of having her husband being taken care of by another woman led an estranged Dangamvura woman to seek a protection order against her husband’s girlfriend whom she claimed was taking over her duties of preparing food for her husband everyday.
Appearing before Mutare magistrate, Mrs Anniah Ndiraya, Ruth Makocho pleaded with the court to intervene in her case because her husband’s affair with Locardia Mtetwa was affecting her family.
“This woman has the tendency of insulting me using vulgar words and she should stop doing that and leave me alone. Her behaviour is affecting my children at school because whenever she insults me, my children will be around.
“She openly boasts that she is squandering my husband’s money and it pains me so much because my children can no longer enjoy a decent life because of their father’s affair with Locardia.
“She is married, but she has been preparing a lunchbox for my husband and she waits for him at the bus stop every morning to give it to him. I tried to speak to her husband about the matter, but it seems he does not have any control. I am humbly asking for a protection order so that she stops harassing me and my children,” said Ruth.
In response, Locadia denied ever insulting Ruth, saying she also wanted a protection order because Ruth was falsely accusing her of being in love with her husband.
Said Locadia: “I am a married woman and there would be no way I would want to snatch her man from her when I already have one. I was actually shocked when I was summoned to court because there is nothing going on between me and her husband. If this court pleases, may I also be granted a protection order against her.”
She, however, failed to explain why she had not sought the protection order first, if indeed she was being harassed by Ruth.
Subsequently, the magistrate granted the protection order to Ruth as she had prayed for.
