Giving his judgment after hearing both parties, the court president, Chief Ademola Odunade, dissolved their union.
Sam stated that: “My lord, my marriage to Ranti has obviously failed. My prayer today is that it is made legal.

“She was disobedient and therefore flouted my order at will.
“Ranti was likewise unfaithful. She dealt treacherously with me and made my life insecure.
“She intentionally withdrew her support from my ministerial work and turned against it. She walked out of our marriage three years ago and put a halt to our relationship.
“My lord, I want to move on with my life. I implore this court to separate us.”
Ranti in her evidence said:”I agree to divorce, my lord.
“Sam is a brute. He started beating me one month after we got married. I never enjoyed our marriage because he was always maltreating.
“He later abandoned me and kept me in the dark of his whereabouts. I moved out of our apartment when it became obvious he didn’t want me anymore.
“Sam moved back to our apartment immediately he learnt I have moved out.
“My lord, I’m also through with him,” she stated.
