Your Obedience Shall Be Rewarded
So why do you call me ‘Lord,’ when you won’t obey me? I will show you what it’s like when someone comes to me, listens to my teaching, and then obeys me. It is like a person who builds a house on a strong foundation laid upon the underlying rock. When the floodwaters rise and break against the house, it stands firm because it is well built. Matthew 6:46 – 48
The bible is critical of the stony heart because it cannot receive the seed of the word and bear fruits. Preaching to a stony heart is like throwing a ball to a wall. No matter how hard and often you throw the ball to the wall, it bounces back to you. There are people who have been coming to church for years now without manifesting any tangible lifestyle changes that should be a product of the word they have been taught.
Crisis mode is fully activated in their lives and they carry yokes and burdens that they shouldn’t carry. They are frequently on the queue for deliverance but after the anointing on the man of God kicks out the evil spirit, it returns shortly after because the environment remains conducive for its activities; but there is a way out of such a perilous circumstance. Stony hearts are broken by simple acts of obedience to the word of God. Obedience to the word of God should be a conscious effort that is made easy by the Holy Spirit who is here to help us nurture and grow in our walk with God. Obedience to the word of God is forever rewarded with stability and success. A life lived in obedience to God can never be subdued by the storms of life.

Prayer:
O Lord give me the grace to be forever obedient to your word
Let me experience the blessing of obedience to your word O Lord

Amen. Thank you Jesus.
