The Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) is today expressing sadness at the death of 18-year-old Okeem Forth who died yesterday after leaving the field during a Kingston and St Andrew Football Association (KSAFA)/Magnum Major League quarterfinal football match between his team Olympic Gardens FC and Molynes United.
JFF hailed Forth as a very talented player who last year was called to the National Under-20 training squad.
Forth attended Tivoli Gardens High School.
A release from General Secretary of the KSAFA Dwayne Dillon, this morning, said that Forth was assisted off the field to receive medical attention in the 83rd minute, and after initial assessments, was rushed to St Andrew’s Memorial Hospital in an ambulance with the medical doctor assigned to the game.
The young player was, however, pronounced dead at the hospital.
Rip to the young man and my heart felt condolences to his family
