A man accused of having s*x with a minor pleaded guilty when he appeared in the St. Elizabeth Circuit Court on Thursday.
Ruel Robinson, 18, was given a three year probation sentence with counselling by High Court Judge, Justice Martin Gayle.
Justice Gayle also instructed that the conviction not be recorded against him.
The court was told that Mr. Robinson was arrested after information surfaced that he was living with a 16 year-old female who was pregnant.
Mr. Robinson was given the three year probation sentence after it was revealed that he had met the female when he was 17 years-old and she was 15 years-old.
The court further learnt that Mr. Robinson decided to take the female in his home and care for her after he realised the man who had impregnated her had run off.
The judge made a good ruling, but the youth should never have been brought before the courts.
