Five charged in Manchester extortion racket denied bail
The five persons charged in connection with the extortion racket which targetted business operators in Manchester have been denied bail.
They were remanded when they returned to the Manchester Circuit Court yesterday.
Careba Salmon,24, will remain in custody until April 5, while her co-accused Sheila Smith, 64, Biko March,21 as well as Keano Powell and Sandre Bogle, who are both 20, were remanded until April 19.
They are charged with six counts of extortion and conspiracy to extort.
The court was told that prosecutors have submit outstanding statements in keeping with instructions issued on Thursday by the judge.
