GOATS STOLEN IN CLARENDON

Detectives assigned to the Praedial Larceny Prevention Unit are investigating the theft of more than forty goats from a farm in Longville Park, Clarendon on Friday morning.

Shortly before 8:00 a.m., the farmer noticed that the goats were missing.

It is reported that some of the animals were lactating and others recently medicated.

Deputy Superintendent Kevin Francis, head of the Praedial Larceny Prevention Unit, has urged distributors and wholesalers to be vigilant when buying meat. He said the meat should be stamped and certified.

DSP Francis is also encouraging members of the public to be careful when purchasing goat meat based on the conditions of the animals stolen from the Longville farm.

The unit is appealing to anyone with information that can assist in the investigation to contact the Longsville Park Police at 902-5047, the 119 emergency number, Crime Stop or the nearest police station.
