7 LOTTERY SCAMMERS WAIVE RIGHTS TO HEARING

Seven of the eight Jamaicans who were extradited to the US last week for allegedly being involved in the lottery scam waived their rights to a bail hearing when they appeared before a court in Bismarck, North Dakota on Tuesday.

They will remain in custody without bail pending trial.

A date has not yet been set.

The eighth Jamaican, Oneil Brown, will appear in court on Wednesday.

His matter was not heard today due to a scheduling issue.

US prosecutors say the Jamaicans are to face trial in North Dakota on lottery scamming charges involving more than five million US dollars.

Lavrick Willocks, the alleged mastermind, was extradited in February after he agreed not to challenge the US request for him.

He has since pleaded not guilty before a US Court.

In the meantime, news came late Tuesday afternoon that four of the eight Jamaicans pleaded not guilty when they appeared in federal court on Tuesday.

They did not enter pleas last week because their public defenders were absent.

The other Jamaicans pleaded not guilty during last week’s hearing.

  1. Wave their rights??? If they have aye knowledge of how the FEDS works, they better jump on any plea bargain given.

  2. They waived their rights to a bail hearing which will have been denied anyway. This is to speed up the process. And accepting a pleas is saying that you are guilty, and they are all pleading not guilty,so they can go on trial.Anyway that fi reach them

  3. yall know it serious when the FEDS send plane & manpower for you, the US not playing around with these scammers. It better dem did a do some farming or go look work with Mr. Chin ina wholesale, at least they would have freedom & peace of mind. I dont sorry fi none a dem. The US justice system is f**ked up at times but when them ready they go all out. Encourage your kids especially the teens & even young adults to satisfy with wat them have in life no matter how small cause scamming/stealing not worth prison life.

  4. Regardless of what they may think, some time in jail will be served. There’s no way dem can come suh far fi walk free. Dem better prepare demself mentally cause it’s gonna be a long process.
