A Margate man is accused of attacking a woman and police officers with a ski pole while riding a bicycle.
According to the Sun Sentinel, Dalton Lindo, 49, was arrested Sunday and charged with aggravated battery, aggravated assault and battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting an officer with violence, fleeing and eluding a police officer and possession of marijuana.
Margate Police said they received a call that Lindo had struck a woman with a “cane” before riding away on his bicycle. When officers found Lindo, he became confrontational towards them.
“He repeatedly yelled ‘shoot me’ at them,” police told the Sun Sentinel. Lindo also struck and attempted to stab officers with the ski pole when they tried to take him into custody.
He was still in jail as of Tuesday.
