An Ado Ekiti magistrate’s court on Tuesday ordered a 45-year-old man, Oluwatuyi Alake, to be remanded in prison custody for allegedly killing his alleged lover with sex.
The police prosecutor, Sergeant Monica Ikebuilo, told the court that the accused allegedly committed the crime on October 30, 2016 at Ojuoro Street, Stadium Road in Ijero-Ekiti.
Ikebuilo also alleged that the accused, on the said date, “had sexual intercourse with the deceased” which she said made her unconscious and led to her death.
According to her, the accused allegedly also took the body of the deceased and dumped it in the bush allegedly to cover up the deed.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened Section 319 of the criminal code, Cap C16, Laws of Ekiti State, 2012.
She added that the case file had been sent to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for advice.
The plea of the accused was not taken because his counsel, Mr. Busuyi Ayorinde, sought for an adjournment to an adjournment till the DPP’s advice is received.
The Magistrate, Omolola Akosile, adjourned the matter to December 15 for hearing and remands the accused in prison custody.
