A 36-year-old mother of two girls has died after drinking a poisonous substance at her home in Newport, Manchester four days before her wedding.
Ingrid Grey was pronounced dead at hospital last night, hours after she was admitted in an unconscious state.
Grey had earlier dropped off her children at school, returned home and reportedly sent a text message to her 15-year-old daughter telling her to take care of herself and her eight-year-old sister.
The woman then called her fiancé to tell him that she was not feeling well.
A friend close to her relatives said the fiancé immediately called neighbours to go to the house to assist Grey.
That is when she was found on the floor inside the house beside a bottle containing gramoxone.
The woman was rushed to hospital where she had been receiving medical treatment, but died last night.
She is said to have been undergoing stress over financial issues.

Excuse me selfish mother? Lord at times, others and myself can fall on to hard times. Nuff people imagine what it would be like if them nuh amongst the living. Nah go seh it’s not tempting but some of those people usually don’t really have others that depend on them – so I kind of see it there. However, as a mother, suicide is NOT an option. How you going to leave your two girls behind mom? How? A nuh like seh yuh single and have absolutely no one. You would think your kids would bring you joy in times of despair. Damn I can’t imagine this.
Rest in peace dear, maybe the pressure did too much. Wow, I am so on the fence on this one.
Just last week I was looking at a definition for suicide, and it states that: Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem(s). Now, I’m fully aware that not everyone can handle stressful situations, and whatever was bothering this woman, sent her over the edge. This situation is sad all the way around. Condolences to this woman’s family and friends.
