The two men charged in connection with last month’s fatal shooting of a 12 year old boy in Milk River, Clarendon, have been released on bond.
Trevor Wright and Oshane Thompson were each offered bail in the sum of $250,000 when they appeared before the Clarendon Parish Court last week, despite strong objections by the police.
Investigators opposed bail on the grounds that one of the men has been charged in connection with two illegal guns seized in the case.
Mr. Wright and Mr. Thompson, both residents of Manchester, are to return to court in November.
Kemarie Miles was fatally shot on a farm in Clarendon on August 30.
It is alleged that the accused were playing with an illegal gun when it went off, hitting the 12 year old.
Mr. Wright and Mr. Thompson have also been charged with trying to cover up the circumstances which led to the boy’s death after they initially told the police he was killed by gunmen who ambushed them.
