He, therefore, appealed to the court to separate them and grant him custody of their child.
Adewunmi who acceded to divorce debunked all that the plaintiff said.
The court president, Chief Ademola Odunade, after listening to the duo observed that there was no more love between them.
Ruling, he dissolved their marriage and granted custody of their children to the plaintiff.
“My lord, I desire to start my life afresh. I, therefore, pray that you separate my wife and I today. I’ve had enough of her atrocities.
“She cared less about my welfare and wasn’t interested in my progress. All she bothered about was money. She was only happy when I gave her money.
“She hardly cooked for me and always left the house untidy. I complained about this but she failed to change.
“She was unfaithful to me for the five years we lived together. She has no moral and was in the habit of hoping from bed to bed. She turned me into a laughing stock in our neighbourhood because almost every man there had slept with her.

“We fought over this on a regular basis and the she eventually moved out of my house with our son.
“My lord, our four year-old son is now addicted to alcohol because she was in the habit of also giving him this when she drinks.
“She has failed to play the motherly role towards our son. The last time I went to check on him and I saw scars on his head. I took him home with me and he has been with me since then.
“My lord, I pray that you grant me custody of this child because his mother doesn’t have time for him, “he stated.
“My lord, he’s a liar. I don’t drink. He was always coming home late drunk while I was with him.
“He never gave me and our child feeding allowance, but had money to drink. He ruined my business because I spent all my capital feeding the family. Any time I complained, he would beat me up.
“This beating increased when he was duped of a reasonable amount of money when planning to travel outside the country. He got frustrated after this and took to beating and hitting me with any object within his reach.
“I moved out with our son when I realised he would kill me.
“My lord, I never gave our child hot drink and didn’t neglect him. He took our child away from me and has since deprived me access to him,” she concluded.
