Two women, one of British descent, were held by the Narcotics police following a cocaine seizure at the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, St James on Wednesday.
According to the police, both women arrived at the airport about 12:30 pm to board a flight to Birmingham, England.
However, during routine baggage checks, packages containing more than 2.8 kilograms of cocaine were found hidden in a compartment of their luggage. The drug is estimated to be worth $5 million on the street.
The police are withholding the names of the two women pending further investigations.
