Anambra State police command has arrested one Mr Chigbo Akpoluobi aged 32 years, a native of Asa village in Ohaji Egbema local government area of IMO state for allegedly defiling a seven-year-old girl in Okpoko, Anambra state.
The command’s Spokesman, SP Haruna Mohammed, who made the disclosure in a statement in Awka, on Thursday, said the suspect allegedly lured the seven years old girl to his rented apartment at Ubodukwu road Nkitaku, Okpoko near Onitsha, Anambra state, on the 14/6/2020 and defiled her.

He said the scene was visited by police detectives from Okpoko Division and the victim was taken to the hospital for medical examination.
Meanwhile, the suspect has voluntarily confessed to the offence.
Mohammed added that the State Commissioner of Police, Mr John Abang, has directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal investigation Department Awka, for discreet investigation after which suspect would be charged to court for prosecution.
