IN a shocking revelation, a man from Combo Village 2 in Shangani, Matabeleland North Province, claimed that he was tired of a loveless relationship because of a jealous tikoloshi which always pushed him aside whenever he wanted to engage in sex with his wife.
The troubled man, Mkhululi Masango (28), said that every time he wanted to seek pleasure from his wife, Elizabeth Thabethe (23), the daring mystical creature would forcibly pull him down.
So terrible is the ordeal, which sounds fictitious, that Masango claimed he had been experiencing for sometime.
Masango said the evil creature was wrecking his marriage as he has not been engaging in sex with his wife for the past four years.
The father of two said when he woke up in the morning he would feel very tired and powerless. Masango narrated his bedroom horror at the Bulawayo Civil Court where his wife had dragged him seeking legal recourse against him claiming he was physically and emotionally abusing her.
“I am not physically abusing my wife as she is claiming. The problem is that every time I want to sleep with her I feel so weak as though something like an evil creature which I suspect to be a tikoloshi is blocking me. It will be pushing me away or pulling me down whenever I want to engage in sex with my wife.
“Unless I wake up and stand it would not stop and when I wake up I would be exhausted. The traumatic experience has been happening for the past four years and as a result I could not engage in sex with my wife. However, when I told her she would brag saying her boyfriends had never experienced such a problem,” an emotionally disturbed Masango said.
He further said as a way of stopping the frequent spiritual violations by the unwelcome guest in his bedroom he had sought help from elders, prophets and traditional healers without success.
“I tried getting help from elders, prophets and traditional healers without success and as a solution we are now sleeping in different rooms. I desperately need help to get rid of this invisible creature as I cannot take its burden anymore,” he said.
Thabethe, who disputed her husband’s claims, maintained that the respondent was physically and emotionally abusing her because of that issue.
Presiding magistrate, Victor Mpofu, however, advised the couple to seek spiritual counselling before he ordered Masango not to physically and emotionally abuse the applicant.
