The third trial of former People’s National Party (PNP) strongman Milton ‘Tony’ Welsh for the stabbing death of a 21-year-old man in 2006 is to start in the Home Circuit court today.
Welsh’s last trial for the killing was in 2007. Like the first trial, jurors failed to reach a verdict. Welsh would have been set free should this third trial end with another hung jury. The 64-year-old Welsh was charged with murder following the stabbing of Damion Hussey who was killed following a PNP rally. The killing occurred in Golden Spring, St Andrew.
