AARON HERNANDEZ KILL HIMSELF

Former NFL star Aaron Hernandez, who was serving a life sentence for a 2013 murder and was acquitted in a 2012 double slaying last week, has committed suicide in prison.

Hernandez was discovered hanged in his cell by corrections officers at the Souza Baranowski Correctional Center in Shirley at 3:05 a.m.

Hernandez was in a single cell in a general population housing unit, officials said.

He hanged himself using a bed sheet that he attached to his cell window. He also tried to block his door from the inside by jamming the door with various items.

Lifesaving techniques were attempted on Hernandez, and he was taken to UMASS Leominster, where he was pronounced dead at 4:07 a.m., according to Christopher M. Fallon, of the Massachusetts Department of Correction.

The Massachusetts State Police is investigating.

The 27-year-old Hernandez was serving a life sentence in the 2013 killing of semi-professional football player Odin Lloyd.

Last week, a jury found Hernandez not guilty of first-degree murder in the killings of Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado.

Hernandez, grew up in Bristol, Connecticut, and played for the New England Patriots from 2010 to 2012.

About six weeks after Furtado and de Abreu were killed, he signed a five-year, $40 million contract with the Patriots and went on to play another season before Lloyd was killed.

He was cut from the team shortly after he was arrested in Lloyd’s killing in June 2013. He was not charged in the 2012 killings until 2014.

  1. One of 2 things happened here:

    1) His 4 y-o daughter being taken to court by her mom last week & that whole sad scene tipped him over the edge & really caused him to commit suicide. Or

    2) He was killed by someone in retaliation. I mean, despite the superb talent he had, he was leading a gangster lifestyle & did crimes from Florida to where he finally ended up killing his brother-in-law.

I feel for the child. Very sad.

  2. tings pile up behind the door a him kill himself, look a the body language in court last week u see he was literally saying goodbye, he has never cried like that before

  3. Psychopath and maniacal killer. Three murders under his belt (maybe more) and one attempted murder . All his money gone, so no funds to file an appeal for the life sentence.

Took the easy way out to maybe avoid paying the rest of funds owed to his lawyers. Hopefully he had some leftover for his daughter. His so-called fiancee was an enabler and should be in prison too.

  4. I agree self-centered, not remorseful at all, cold. Such a good looking guy, every time I saw him in court I shook my head, he took lives and wasted his. I thought he was stronger than that, he did the crime but couldn’t do the time.I feel it for his wife and his daughter
