The man taken into custody earlier this week in relation to the killing of 3 year old Nevalisa Campbell, has been charged with murder.
Head of the St. Ann Police Superintendent Wayne Cameron says Alexus Newland was charged yesterday (Wed).
He says Newland will appear in the St. Ann Parish Court today, Thursday 14,2016.
Young Nevalisa Campbell was reported missing on Saturday night.
The child’s body was found in an open lot in the Orange Hill community, near Brown’s Town on Sunday, with several chop wounds.
Her mother and stepfather are in custody and have been charged with breaches of the childcare and protection act. They are to appear in court today .
Both parents should be charged fi murder as well.
