The body of the man who drowned at the Port Royal Beach on Sunday has been found.
Lieutenant Commander Acieon Prescott, Acting Commanding Officer for the JDF Coast Guard, told RJR’s Beyond the Headlines that the body was found by passers by “a few hundred metres west” of where the man was thought to have drowned.
Jerome Christie, 21, was swimming with friends at the beach on Sunday, when he reportedly encountered difficulty. He disappeared and residents immediately launched a search. This was later continued by the JDF but had to be called off due to poor visibility.
The search was resumed on Tuesday morning.
