CREARY RAPE CASE GONE A DI SUPREME COURT

THE rape case against businessman and former Jamaica Labour Party councillor Don Creary and publicist Shaneke Williams was yesterday transferred to the Supreme Court, where they will be tried on s*xual offence charges.
The decision to transfer the case was made following a submission by Queen’s Counsel Tom Tavares-Finson and the prosecutor during a committal hearing in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court.
Parish Judge Simone Wolfe Reece subsequently made a ruling for the matter to be tried in the Supreme Court.
The matter will be mentioned at the opening of Circuit Court on September 16.

Creary and Williams were subsequently reoffered bail in the sum of $2 million and $1.5 million, respectively.
Bail was reoffered due to the fact that the matter was terminated in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court.
Creary was arrested and charged in 2015 for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl. Williams was also charged with aiding and abetting rape and s*xual touching in the alleged incident involving the 15-year-old in November 2013.
Creary is accused of having s*x with the girl in a St Mary apartment after allegedly serving her alcoholic beverages.
Last week, a similar case against him and a 19-year-old woman was dismissed in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court after the prosecutor told the court that the complainant had left the island and that the prosecutor had no contact information for her.

  1. If dem find him guilty, den di whole a UPT better run and go hide! Cause try kno seh di likkle boy and girl dem will start to talk especially if serious money a go pay out!

  2. Does Creary want a real chance of getting off or not. Yes he’s guilty as sin, but he needs to give himself a real chance & I know, because I grew up off Red Hill Road, having Tom Tavares-Finson as a lawyer is not giving yourself a real chance of getting away. Just sayin.

  3. A weh yu a talk seh Cindy? GrandPaw a di best attorney to have if you are trying to bribe your way out of a case. Obviously this girl mother has not taken the offer made or GrandPaw would have gone to trial and beat the case with missing witness as he did with the other case.
Di move to Supreme Court is to buy time.
