Navardo Ford, 42 years old D.O.B 15/06/1975 Motor Vehicle Examiner of Chatteau Road, May Pen, Clarendon was fatally shot by the police. Reports are; Constable Delano Graham took home his girlfriend Toni-Ann Jones in his 1999 Blue Honda Civic Motor car, registered 0123HW. On reaching her gate she alighted from the vehicle and headed through a grill gate into her yard, when a grey 2011 Daihatsu Mira Motor car, registered 1781HM drove up. A man alighted from the vehicle with a gun in his hand, ran after Toni-Ann, held her and began to beat and kick her. Constable Graham alighted from his vehicle and called out to the man who told him if he came any nearer he would receive gunshots. The man continued to beat and kick Toni-Ann all over her body and he placed the gun into his right front pants pocket and continued to beat and pull her towards his car. Constable Graham called out to him again he looked at him and he pushed his hand in his pocket and went for his gun. Constable Graham pulled his Service Pistol Browning Single Action 9mm serial number 245PX07977; and in fear of his life and opened fire in the man’s direction hitting him to the upper body and grazing Toni-Ann to the left and right hand.
Both were taken to the May Pen Hospital where the man, who was later identified as Navardo Ford, was pronounced dead. Toni-Ann was treated and released. Det Insp. M. Murray of the May Pen C.I.B is investigating.
