Jamaica seeking US$100m grant from China to build road in Blue Mountain area

A grant of US$100 million is being sought from the Chinese government to build out the road access infrastructure in the Blue Mountain region.

Agriculture Minister Audley Shaw said this will assist in increasing production and quality of Blue Mountain coffee.

In her address on the weekend at inaugural awards banquet of the Jamaica Coffee Exporters Association (JCEA), president of the Jamaica Promotions Corporation (JAMPRO), Diane Edwards, said her organisation is committed to working with the JCEA to build up the coffee industry and find new markets.
