EMPLOYEES INJURED IN JAMAICA BROILERS EXPLOSION

Two employees were today injured in an explosion at the Best Dressed Further Processing Facility at Spring Village, St Catherine, Jamaica Broilers Group said in a statement a short while ago.

The explosion, which took place in a section of the facility, occurred about 2:00 pm.

Jamaica Broilers Group said the two employees are currently being treated at hospital where they were taken by the company’s ambulance.

“Their injuries are not considered serious,” Jamaica Broilers Group said.

Meanwhile, the group says production of the Best Dressed Chicken has not been affected.

“… over the next few hours, specialised teams will be working to determine the extent of damage to the facility. In addition the Jamaica Fire Brigade is investigating the cause of the incident,” Jamaica Broilers Group said.

The Jamaica Broilers Group says it regrets that workers were injured in the incident and that they are praying for their full recovery.

  1. Praying for recovery, how about paying the medical bills. Also giving them leave with pay, they could have died.

    1. Broliers isn’t known for mistreating employees and workers comp & HR will do the rest of the work. Jamaica not shabby on unions or modern labor laws & rights no matter how you hear it.
