Enforcing the verdict of the Cross of Jesus Christ
“Our ancestors have sinned, but now they are dead, but we the current generations are left to bear their iniquities” Lamentations 5:7.
The primary mystery of bondage is not having the knowledge as to what happened in generations past. Many families are enslaved to generational curses due to the many family secrets that they are not aware of. This lack of knowledge has secured a lifetime of hardship and difficulties for the current generation and by extension, generations to come. Christian or not, if you’ve not dealt with the evil covenants establish by your ancestors via their practicing or involvement in witchcraft and the like, then more than likely you’ve unknowingly accepted the baton of a generational curse.
It is of great importance that such evil covenants be recognized and the emphasis is placed on breaking them. I have had the unfortunate experience of explaining to some Christians that even though they have accepted the gift of salvation, this does not automatically free them from whatever curse they are operating under.
While Jesus Christ crucifixion enables us to be free from whatever curses we would have been challenged with. We must now enforce the verdict that came about as a result of the cross by addressing those that are operating under any curse with the power of the cross. For example, sickness is a curse. With that said why is it that when you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior, you were not delivered from the curse of cancer, even though Christ became a curse for you, which simply means that through Christ’s crucifixion He took on all curses that were meant for you.
Jesus Christ has now enabled us through him to break curses. Thus, we enforce the verdict of the cross of Jesus Christ by the following example. “Father, in the name of your son Jesus Christ who has become a curse for me based on the events that resulted from his crucifixion. I exercise that authority by breaking the curse of cancer by enforcing the verdict of the cross that clearly says, “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes, we are healed” Isaiah 53:5.
Stop allowing others to convince you that you do not have to break a curse because Christ has already broken it for you. You know just as well as I do that there are still curses operating in your life even though you have accepted the gift of salvation for 5, 10 plus years now! It is all because you’re not enforcing the verdict of the cross. Like I’ve mentioned, you enforce the verdict of the cross by the word of God through Jesus Christ who died on the cross for you.
