GOD CANNOT RESIST STRONG DESIRE
And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil. Matthew 15:22
God cannot turn away from the strong desires or expectations of those who trust in Him. He is merciful and full of compassion; those who look up to Him will never bow down their heads in shame. He honours and encourages our faith in Him. God expects us to come to Him and discuss the challenges we face, partner with Him in solving them.
Like the woman of Canaan, there may be issues in your life that should logically make God to not want to have anything to do with you. But He commands us to come boldly to His throne of Grace to obtain mercy and favour and find grace to help in times of need. God neither hordes His favour nor hawk it to the highest bidder. Instead, He looks out for those who need His grace and gives it to them abundantly. Jesus said He didn’t come for the healthy and prosperous but He came for the sick in need of a doctor.
Don’t be intimidated by natural circumstances that you can’t change in your walk with God. The woman of Canaan could not change her origins and so she mustered courage and came crying out for help for her daughter who was being afflicted by demons. She was determined to get help that she was not discouraged by Jesus’ reply that it isn’t right to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs. She pleaded her course and received the miracle she desperately needed for her daughter.
