HOLNESS’ SWEARING IN CEREMONY EXPENSES TO BE PAID BY JLP SUPPORTERS

General Secretary for The Jamaica Labour Party, Dr Horace Chang, says a significant amount of the expense, relating to its leader, Andrew Holness Being sworn-in as Prime Minister, is being funded by its supporters.
Without disclosing who those supporters are, Dr Chang says, following a meeting, members of the Labour Party decided, that they would not use funds, designated for the public for the event.

He says, the party is of the view, that the country is still in an economic crisis, and as such, money cannot be spent unnecessarily.
Mr. Holness will take the oath of allegiance, and the oath of office of Prime Minister, after which he will receive the instrument of appointment to the office of prime minister, from Governor-General Sir Patrick Allen.
He will be sworn-in as Prime Minister for the second time, having served in that office from October 23, 2011 to January 5, 2012.
