HOW DEM HAVE GUN AND BRUCK

Two firearms and several rounds of ammunition were seized by officers attached to the Spanish Town police station on Friday.

The guns and ammunition, a 9mm pistol and a Mini 14 Ruger Sub-Machine Gun, were seized in separate incidents in St Catherine.

The police say in the first incident, which took place about 2:10 p.m., officers were on enquiries along Young Street when a man who aroused their suspicions was accosted and searched.

One 9mm pistol with a magazine containing ten 9mm rounds of ammunition was taken from a bag he was carrying.

He was subsequently arrested and charged.

He is 21-year-old Robert Duncan, otherwise called ‘Ben’, labourer of Elerslie Meadows, Spanish Town, St Catherine.

Duncan is scheduled to appear in the St Catherine Parish Court on Tuesday, May 30.

In the second incident, about 5 p.m., an abandoned building was searched and one Mini 14 Ruger Sub-Machine Gun and three 5.56 cartridges were seized in Backlands, March Pen, St Catherine.

No one was arrested in connection with this seizure.

Investigations continue.
