The Hanover police say they need more resources to tackle crime in the parish.
Figures obtained by RJR News show that between January 1 and last Friday, 23 people were murdered in the parish, up from seven last year.
Detective Inspector Paul Simms, crime officer for the Hanover Police, said the division is mainly in need of additional personnel as well as more vehicles.
However, he was quick to point out that the need for added resources has not resulted in the police reneging their duties.
“We are utilising what we have, maximising the best use of it and to see how best we can keep a lid on things,” he insisted.
Awwwww Buoy.
