LADY ON THE FENCE RESCUED

Rescue operations are still underway in Linstead, St. Catherine where 12 members of a household remain trapped in a house on McKenzie Drive, Sunny Side.

Major Clive Davis, Director-General of the Office of Disaster Preparedness & Emergency Management (ODPEM) told RJR News that that the Jamaica Fire Brigade and the Jamaica Constabulary Force were able to rescue three of 15 persons trapped by rising water in a house.

The Jamaica Defence Force Coast Guard is now en route to the scene with inflatable boats, which will be deployed to rescue the remaining twelve people, he said.
