LIFE SENTENCE FOR MAN WHO KILLED THREE PEOPLE IN LINSTEAD

A vendor from Linstead in St. Catherine has been given a life sentence for a quadruple murder committed in the parish four years ago.

Simeon Miller, 37, of Gillette Street, was sentenced last week in the Home Circuit Court.

He was sentenced to life imprisonment on each of the four counts and will not be eligible for parole before 35 years.

About 9 p.m. on August 20, 2014, Miller and other men went to Venecia Road in the community of Mickelton where they shot and killed 20 year-old Shanna-Kay Simpson and 30 year-old Garfield Simpson who were walking in the area.

The men then went to a grocery shop in another section of the community where they fatally shot 27 year-old Ricodell Jackson, who was employed to Nestle Jamaica as a Junior Analyst.

Patrons were robbed of cash and other items.

Taxi operator Dean Pratt, 43, was shot and killed when he stopped at the shop.

Miller was held the following month.
