LOTTERY SCAMMERS MOVING TO ST ELIZABETH

The St. Elizabeth police has said it continues to see an increase in persons involved in the lottery scam migrating from Western Jamaica to the southern sections of the parish.

Superintendent Lansford Salmon, head of the division, said these individuals are often involved in other criminal activities which normally follow them wherever they go. He also warned young women in the parish to be weary of getting into relationships with these men.

Outlining his concerns at Thursday’s monthly meeting of the St. Elizabeth Municipal Corporation, he again warned homeowners to be careful when approached by very young persons seeking places to rent and who are willing to pay more than what is requested monthly and up to a year in advance.

Residents must report unscrupulous or suspicious persons in their communities, he urged.
