MAN MURDERED VIA PORTLANDER NEWS

A murder suspect has been hospitalized after he was shot in the leg by the police while reportedly resisting arrest in Port Antonio this morning.
It is reported that at about 10 a.m. a team of police officers attached to the Port Antonio police station were alerted to Foreshore road where an angry mob chased a man who has been implicated in this morning’s murder of another man whose body was found in a barrel on Harris Crescent in the parish capital.
It is alleged that the murder suspect ran into a shipping container and attempted to lock himself inside. However, the police in trying to apprehend the man it is alleged that he used a iron pipe to attack the lawmen.
The police reportedly shot the man in his left leg.
The murder suspect was then taken to hospital where he has been admitted under heavy police guard.
Meanwhile the deceased has been identified as Kedron Marshall otherwise called Tete who is said to be of unsound mind.


According to police reports at about 7 a.m. residents stumbled upon the barrel at the front of a premises and upon closer inspection the body of a man was found inside with his head bashed in. It is alleged that the deceased was killed on Sommerstown road and his body placed in the barrel which was moved onto Harris Crescent.
Portland has recorded eight murders since the start of the year.
Less than two weeks ago a man was stabbed to death in the parish.
The police are concerned that domestic violence has been contributing to the homicide figures in the parish and are appealing to residents to resolve their disputes peacefully.
