MAN SLAPPED WITH STATUTORY RAPE CHARGES AND LOTTERY SCAMMING CHARGES

A 21-year-old man is to answer to lottery scamming and sex charges after he was arrested and charged by detectives attached to the Santa Cruz Police Station.

He is Sherman Williams, otherwise called ‘Chuckie’, of Retirement in Maggotty St Elizabeth.

A cellular phone containing identity information of people living in the United States of America, as well as banking information for overseas accounts were found in his possession.

He was subsequently charged with: having sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 16; and knowingly possessing identity information.
The Centre for Investigations of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA) is probing the incident involving the minor.

Williams is scheduled to appear before the Santa Cruz Resident Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, December 22.
