MAN WHO KILLED CAR DEALER IN 2014 TRIAL DELAYED

The sentencing hearing for Bertram Jenkins, the man accused of the 2014 murder of motor vehicle dealer, Robert Mendez, was delayed on Thursday.

The matter is now set for next Thursday before the Home Circuit Court.

Jenkins pleaded guilty in December to killing the businessman.

A second accused, John Jarrett, has pleaded not guilty and is to stand trial.

Mr. Mendez, who operated Payless Car Mart off Maxfield Avenue in St. Andrew, was fatally shot in his office on April 1, 2014.

Jenkins, who fled to Canada, was captured a year later and deported.

  1. not a trial he pleaded guilty in December …remember it was caught on Camera ..unnuh know why he murdered him ?

    1. Good question. I’m curious what cause him to carry out the killing with the receptionist as a witness and why she wasn’t harmed.

  2. Good question I would like to know motive too. But why the second man going trial? I assume it’s the other on video, he is just as guilty I never see in the video where the trigger man held him hostage
