MANCHESTER’S MOST WANTED SHOT BY POLICE

A man who was listed as most wanted by the Manchester Police was shot and killed Wednesday afternoon.

Deputy Superintendent Hemford Wade, Crime Officer for the Manchester Police, told RJR News that the police went in search of the man, Issachar Williams, in Porus about 1:30 p.m. when he fired shots at them.

After a reported gun battle, Williams was found with gunshot wounds. He was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A firearm was recovered from him.

DSP Wade said the man was wanted or was a person of interest in the parish for several crimes, including shooting with intent, murder and robbery. He was also involved in a shooting in which a two year old child was injured.
