One woman dead, 14 injured in St Ann crash
One woman is dead and 14 other people injured following a two-vehicle collision on the Llandovery Main Road in St Ann this afternoon.
Head of the police’s traffic division, Senior Superintendent Calvin Allen, says information gathered so far indicates that a public passenger mini bus was travelling along the roadway when the driver overtook a line of traffic.
SSP Allen says the driver of a motorcar with passengers aboard also pulled out of the line of traffic and proceeded to overtake other motorists.
He says both vehicles collided, went onto the other side of the road, and crashed into bushes along the roadway.
SSP Allen says passengers in both vehicles received injuries and were taken to hospital.
The woman died at hospital.
Condolences to the family of the deceased. Hope all the injured make a speedy recovery.
What I find appalling is that so many roads are known to be deathtraps, yet the drivers do no take greater precautions while travelling on them. Certain tings you nuh try pon certain roads cause doze roads have no mercy.
