Andrew Backit,a Jamaican fugitive who was wanted on charges of drug trafficking and attempted murder was nabbed on Friday by U.S Marshals in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Backit,40, was wanted on a 2010 outstanding federal indictment for conspiracy to distribute drugs and possession of a firearm in relation to a drug trafficking charge.
He was currently on the US Postal Inspection Service’s Most Wanted list, and also for attempted murder in New York City.
According to US authorities, Backit is a member of the “Fatherless Crew” based that was based in Rema Jamaica and operated out of Queens New York.
Several members of the organization were arrested and convicted, however; Backit remained at large.
He is currently in federal custody in Cincinnati and will be transferred to the Eastern District of New York after appearing in court.
