16-y-o boy charged in shooting death of 11-y-o girl in Denham Town

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Detectives from the Major Investigation Task Force (MIT) this morning charged a 16-year-old boy in connection to the shooting death of an 11-year-old girl at Bread Lane, Kingston on Thursday August 1.
Police say that the boy went through a question and answer session with his attorney, after which he was charged with murder. He is booked to appear in court at a later date.

It was reported that about 6:30 pm Tashanique James of a North Street address and three other people were standing in a yard when unknown assailants entered the area and opened fire hitting them. They were taken to hospital where Tashanique was pronounced dead and the other people admitted in stable condition.
