Deputy Superintendent of Police Throyville Haughton, in charge of operations for the Portland Police
The Portland police say 86 people who were held in the parish last year, were wanted for crimes in other divisions.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Throyville Haughton, in charge of operations for the Portland Police, told the Portland Municipal Corporation’s monthly meeting on Thursday that the individuals have been sent to the divisions where they were wanted.
DSP Haughton also noted that murders and shootings in Portland each increased by seven in 2018.
During the year, eight firearms were taken off the streets of the parish.
Wounding and rape also went up, while there were reductions in break-ins, robberies and larceny.
Kudos to the Portland police.
They need to go to St. Thomas. I think because of SOE criminals are migrating to these quiet parishes. Look at Bull Bay. Met find out about the rise up in criminal activities in Bull Bay.
