A 51-year-old Long Beach priest was arrested Friday after police discovered child pornography on his computer devices and drugs inside his church residence, Nassau Police said.
The Rev. Christopher King, a priest at St. James of Jerusalem Episcopal Church located at 220 W. Penn St., is charged with five counts of possessing a s3xual performance by a child and two counts of seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said.
According to police, detectives from Narcotics Vice Bureau, Crimes Against Property Child Exploitation Unit and the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office, conducted an investigation at King’s parish residence regarding child pornography on his computer devices, police said.
An on-site preview of those devices was conducted, revealing files containing pornography involving children under the age of 16, police said.
Police also recovered a quantity of methamphetamine, Xanax pills and numerous items of drug-related paraphernalia, police said.
King will be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead Saturday.
