Ray Ray Market destroyed by fire
The market commonly known as Ray Ray Market, on West Queen Street downtown, Kingston, has been destroyed by fire.
This has been confirmed by the Jamaica Fire Brigade.
Earlier the Brigade had mistakenly said it was Coronation Market, situated nearby, that was on fire.
Superintendent Andrew Russell, head of the Kingston & St Andrew Division of the Jamaica Fire Brigade, told RJR News that the entire Ray Ray Market had been engulfed in flames.
He said the Brigade were alerted to the fire about 5:40 a.m.
Sections of the market have been damaged by various fires over the years.
The latest was November last year.
