Investigators and forensic experts will on Thursday continue their search at a house in West End, Negril, Westmoreland where the body of a woman was found in a makeshift grave Wednesday evening.
The body is believed to be that of 24 year-old Shantal Dyer who along with her daughter, three year-old Orlandie Miller had been reported missing. A relative earlier this week told RJR News that they had not been seen in two months. Detectives believe they were killed and buried in the house.
RJR News spoke with Senior Superintendent Egbert Parkins, head of the Westmoreland Police, who said the area is still an active crime scene and the search will continue to find the body of the baby.
In the meantime, the police have identified as a person of interest in the case Mr. Iley Russell who was the boyfriend of the deceased. The body was found at his house. However, SSP Parkins said investigations revealed that Mr. Russell left the island on April 27.
