One man’s attempt to hide from police failed miserably when he tried to spray paint his face and blend into “the background” after stealing a vehicle in California.
Jose Espinoza tried to escape from police not once, but twice after stealing a car in the city of Madera, reports KTLA. During his second getaway, the 23-year-old tried to throw police officers off by spray-painting his face black.
As you can see above, the master of disguise didn’t quite succeed. Besides harming himself with toxic fumes, Espinoza was jailed and placed on $35,000 bail.
Suspects using spray paint to disguise themselves has proved time and time again to be one big fail. In 2009, a bank robber killed himself after using the toxic chemicals as a disguise in South Carolina. Then there’s Kelly Gibson, a spray paint addict whose mugshot went viral in 2011 after he was arrested with silver paint all over his face. It was his 46th arrest connected to the unusual proclivity.
