The police say the western end of the island continues to be the focal point of operation as the Jamaica Constabulary Force moves to clamp down on lottery scamming activities.

Twenty-one persons have been taken into custody in Hanover following an operation on Friday.

Reports are that the operation began about 4:30 am and targeted several communities in the parish. As a result, the police say 21 persons including a 16-year-old student and a Trinidadian national were arrested.

Twenty premises were searched resulting in the seizure of five motor vehicles, several electronic devices including laptops, cellular phones and lottery scamming paraphernalia.
